Choose the perfect location

The Jersey shore is home to many beautiful wedding venues, so there are endless options to choose a location that aligns with your vision and budget. Whether you prefer an intimate beach ceremony or a lavish waterfront reception, there are several options available for you.  Reach out to Eastman Events for a list of some of our favs.

When choosing a location consider the availability of the venue, the size of the space, catering and entertainment options and other factors such as the tide and wind. You should also take into account the proximity of the location to your guests and ensure that there is ample parking and accommodation nearby.

Planning a beach wedding can be fun, and it’s easy to overlook the legalities.  Make sure that you have the necessary permits and permissions to hold your ceremony on the beach.  You may not be able to pop your wedding on just any beach, there are zoning restrictions.  At Eastman Events, we have experience working through these logistics and will make sure that the experience is seamless for you.

Set a budget

Weddings can be expensive, and it's crucial to set a realistic budget early in your planning process and stick to it. Your budget may determine the type of venue you can choose, the number of guests you can invite, and the type of vendors you can hire. When setting your budget, consider the cost of the venue, catering, entertainment, decorations, and any other expenses you may incur.

Make sure to allocate funds for unexpected expenses that may arise. Being mindful of your spending will help you ensure that your wedding is enjoyable and stress-free.

Choose the perfect date

The Jersey shore is a popular wedding destination, and spring is an ideal time to take advantage of the beachy perks (mild temperatures and beautiful scenery) before tourist season begins. Once peak tourist season kicks in prices are higher, and availability may be limited.

When selecting a date, consider factors such as the schedules of your guests and any other events that may be taking place in the area. Availability may be limited so book early.

Select the right vendors

Choosing professional vendors who share your vision and can deliver high quality services can make or break your wedding.  When selecting vendors, consider their experience, reviews, and availability. Some of the vendors you'll need to hire for your wedding include a caterer, photographer, florist, DJ, and wedding planner.

It's important to communicate early and often with your vendors to discuss your preferences and expectations, especially if part of your event will be on the sand.  They may need extra time to prepare their equipment and make sure they abide by all of the rules.  For example: Not all locations allow generators on the beach, or have access to electricity, so your vendors may need to take extra care in planning their logistics.

Choose a theme and color scheme

A theme and color scheme can help tie your wedding together and create a cohesive look and feel. Spring weddings on the Jersey shore are often associated with bright colors, nautical themes, and beachy vibes.  That being said, you’ll find varied types of venues from tents to ballroom to lofts and more so you don’t have to be tied down to a traditional nautical theme with seashells, starfish, and driftwood just because you’re near the beach.

Colors such as light blue, turquoise, coral, and pink, will give you a coastal feel without the typical beachy details. Soft, flowy fabrics will give a breezy vibe.  There are a ton of beautiful ways to bring out a beachy feel without using boats, anchors or sailboats.  Think about incorporating stripes, lanterns, and rattan baskets for an elevated, but appropriate vibe for the scenery.

Consider the weather

Spring weather on the Jersey shore can be unpredictable, with mild temperatures, occasional rain, and cool sea breezes. So plan ahead for possible weather and ensure that your guests are comfortable throughout the day.

Consider providing tents or an indoor backup location in case of rain, and make sure that your guests have access to adequate heating or cooling depending on the temperature. You may also want to provide blankets or fans for your guests, depending on the weather conditions.

Plan for the beach

A fun and practical way to help prepare your guests for the sandy beach is to offer them flip flops or beach-friendly shoes, and consider using lightweight and water-resistant decorations. Finally, make sure that you have a plan for cleaning up after the ceremony to avoid littering or damaging the beach.

Planning a spring wedding on the Jersey shore will be so beautiful. Just remember to enjoy the process and savor every moment of your special day.
